Yes — Egypt is generally safe for visitors, and tourism is a very important part of the country’s economy. Tens of millions of travelers visit Egypt each year without issues. The main tourist areas — Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea coast, and the desert oases — are well-patrolled and welcoming to foreigners.
That said, like in any country, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings and follow common-sense precautions:
On our camping and safari trips, your safety is our top priority. We work only with experienced guides, use reliable vehicles, and guide our customers to beautiful areas that are safe. We also monitor weather and local conditions to adjust itineraries if needed.

Yes. Many women travel alone in Egypt, including on our camping and safari trips. We recommend modest dress, especially in rural or traditional areas, and joining guided tours for added comfort. Our team makes sure solo travelers feel supported and secure.

Yes, with the right preparation and guides. Desert travel can be harsh if attempted alone, but with experienced drivers, proper vehicles, and safety equipment, it’s an incredible and safe experience. We always travel in well-maintained 4×4 vehicles, carry first aid kits, and monitor conditions carefully.
Like most big cities, Cairo and Alexandria are busy and crowded. Petty theft (pickpocketing, overcharging taxis) can happen, but violent crime against tourists is very rare. As long as you use normal precautions — stay aware, don’t flash valuables, use trusted transport — you should be fine.
