Yes, depending on your nationality. Many travelers can get an e-visa in advance or visa on arrival.

Language & communication?

Our guides usually speak English; we can often arrange guides who speak other languages depending on request. We will ensure you understand all instructions & safety briefings.

What about mobile phone / connectivity?

In remote desert areas, mobile reception may be very weak or none. Don’t count on reliable signal for large parts of your trip.

What about charging my devices?

We may be able to offer charging in the car, but a fully-charged power bank is useful.

  • Safety & Health

What safety measures are in place?

Your safety is our priority. We use:

  • Experienced local guides who know the terrain well

  • First aid kits on all trips

  • Reliable transportation (4×4 vehicles or trucks built for desert travel)

  • Clear emergency protocols

What about insects, wildlife, and the desert environment?

  • Insects: very few insects in the desert, but sometimes mosquitos near water / oases, especially in warmer months; if you are sensitive, we advise insect repellent in the summer only

  • Wildlife: if you are lucky, you might see a Fennec fox; otherwise, it is unlikely to see any other animals in the desert

  • Extreme heat & cold: deserts can be very hot in daytime and cold at night — packing appropriate clothing is essential

Is Egypt safe for travelers?

Yes — Egypt is generally safe for visitors, and tourism is a very important part of the country’s economy. Tens of millions of travelers visit Egypt each year without issues. The main tourist areas — Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea coast, and the desert oases — are well-patrolled and welcoming to foreigners.

That said, like in any country, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings and follow common-sense precautions:

  • Stick with your guide in remote areas of the desert.

  • Keep valuables secure and avoid showing large amounts of cash in public.

  • Follow local laws and customs, and dress modestly in traditional areas.

  • Check travel advisories from your government before your trip, as advice may change.

On our camping and safari trips, your safety is our top priority. We work only with experienced guides, use reliable vehicles, and guide our customers to beautiful areas that are safe. We also monitor weather and local conditions to adjust itineraries if needed.

Travelers often tell us they feel very welcomed by Egyptians — hospitality is part of the culture, and most visitors feel not just safe, but cared for.

Is it safe for solo female travelers?

Yes. Many women travel alone in Egypt, including on our camping and safari trips. We recommend modest dress, especially in rural or traditional areas, and joining guided tours for added comfort. Our team makes sure solo travelers feel supported and secure.

Is it safe to bring children on a desert safari?

Absolutely. Families are very welcome, and kids often love the adventure of camping under the stars and exploring the desert. We adapt itineraries to suit children’s ages, with shorter drives, more breaks, and fun activities.

Is it safe to travel in the desert?

Yes, with the right preparation and guides. Desert travel can be harsh if attempted alone, but with experienced drivers, proper vehicles, and safety equipment, it’s an incredible and safe experience. We always travel in well-maintained 4×4 vehicles, carry first aid kits, and monitor conditions carefully.

What about safety in Egyptian cities?

Like most big cities, Cairo and Alexandria are busy and crowded. Petty theft (pickpocketing, overcharging taxis) can happen, but violent crime against tourists is very rare. As long as you use normal precautions — stay aware, don’t flash valuables, use trusted transport — you should be fine.
